July 2024
The Trust welcomed a group of 9 students to take part in our Medical Work Experience programme in July 2024. Everybody who took part enjoyed the programme and some of their reflective comments include:
- The exposure was very helpful and helped me decide that this is the something I really want to do in the future
- Made it clear that it is definitely what I want to do
- Varied experiences. Very interesting and insightful
- Great exposure of clinical setting shadowing doctors and consultants. Helped to meet my objectives and take forward my decision to study a profession within the NHS. All the staff have been very welcoming, informative and kind.
- Good knowledge gained of different specialities and wards.
- Hospital exposure is so hard to get and it has been really useful to experience.
February 2024
The Medical Work Experience Programme took place from the 19 to 23 February 2024 and was attended by nine students.
The programme is supported by a range of staff throughout the Trust but particularly by the Consultants and their teams in practice, who recognise the programme as an important step in the decision making process for our local youngsters who are considering a career in Medicine.
The team received great feedback from the students who thought it helped give them an insight into what they would like to do in the future, and gave them great exposure and experience for future careers.
