Your donations and support mean we can go above and beyond – offering more than what might be possible through ‘normal NHS funding’.
Donations and legacies to the Chesterfield Royal Charity enable us to invest in ideas that enhance patient care and experience by improving the environment and facilities on offer as well as upgrading equipment. Relaxation gardens and courtyard spaces, new restaurant facilities, an MRI scanner and partnering with AccessAble to make the Trust site more accessible to people with a disability or impairment are just some examples of how charitable donations have been used to benefit our patients, relatives and visitors.
We also know that our colleagues are the backbone of our Trust. Your support enables us to provide services to help maintain and improve their wellbeing as well as providing extra education and training to ensure our colleagues are at the cutting edge of new and better ways of providing exceptional care to our patients. We have also helped to fund the new £2m Health and Wellbeing Hub - which your generous donations made possible.
Thanks to the generosity of our patients, their relatives and carers – and people from across North Derbyshire – the Chesterfield Royal Charity is able to give the gift of ‘outstanding’ – helping patients to receive the very best care and treatment; and providing colleagues with a great place to work. However, we want to do more.
We invest in ideas that enhance patient care and experience by: Improving the environment and facilities on offer; and upgrading equipment. Relaxation gardens, new restaurant facilities, an MRI scanner and state-of-the-art wheelchairs are just some examples of how charitable donations have been used to benefit our patients, relatives and visitors. We support suggestions that look after staff by: Caring for their wellbeing and providing extra education and training. Water stations and bottles for hydration at work, massages and mental health support and access to Human Factors training are some of the ways the charity has helped to make sure that staff are looked after at work, so they can look after our patients.
We fund lots of different projects across Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We have a variety of appeals that are designed to fund some of our biggest and most important projects - from larger projects like state-of-the-art equipment or facilities to smaller things that makes difference to our colleagues, patients or families while they are with us.
Caring for our colleagues – £2m Health and Wellbeing Hub
Thanks to generous donations from our patients, their families, colleagues and sponsors we launched our ‘Health and Wellbeing Hub’ in July 2023. The hub is a purpose-built facility to ‘care for carers’ - those people working around the clock at the Trust, who provide care to our communities and families.
More about the hub:
The Health and Wellbeing Hub to utilise and enjoy the facilities, which include:
- A state-of-the-art gym
- Complimentary therapies
- Areas for group and individual reflections after traumatic incidents, like those seen during the pandemic
- Counselling rooms
Thank you to all the people who have contributed so far, including a number of high-profile partners such as; NHS Charities Together, Sheffield Hallam University and Westfield Health.
We are still fundraising for the ongoing costs associated with the Hub and people can donate here.
