NED Recruitment Pack - January 2025 FINAL.pngWe are looking for an exceptional person to appoint as a new Non-Executive Director – someone who is passionate and committed to developing and leading our unique organisation.

We are searching for a motivated person who will play a vital role in shaping the future of our Trust, ensuring we continue to deliver our vision, mission, and values through our ‘Together as One’ strategy.

Our new Non-Executive Director will be committed to supporting to our talented and committed workforce of over 5600 colleagues at Chesterfield Royal Hospital Group; the hospital, Royal Primary Care and Derbyshire Support and Facilities Services (DSFS), who together provide acute and community healthcare services for over 400,000 people across north Derbyshire.

We are proud of our recent feedback in the latest national NHS Staff Survey where 71.7% of colleagues recommended #TeamCRH as a place to work, and 72.7% told us they would be happy with the standard of care provided should their friend or relative need it.

We are a stable and well-performing organisation, with ambitious plans. We were last inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as a whole Trust, including Royal Primary Care, in 2020. Overall, the Trust received a rating of ‘Good’, yet this does not illustrate the complete picture. At the time our hospital-based services received a rating of ‘Requires Improvement’, and we are confident of the progress we have made since then with our maternity services recently being rated as ‘Good’.

Our new Non-Executive Director will be a key component of our Unitary Board which has responsibility for the governance and financial integrity of the Foundation Trust and providing stewardship of our organisational culture, vision, and strategy. A caring and inclusive leader, our new Non-Executive Director will embody the Trust’s Proud to CARE values: Compassion, Ambition, Respect, and Encouragement, while serving as an ambassador for the organisation and being held to account for the strategic leadership of the Trust. You will bring outstanding communication, engagement, and facilitation skills to influence and build relationships internally and externally, including collaboration with our system partners.

This is an exciting time to join our Trust Board as we start to develop our new strategy throughout 2025. We would welcome hearing from candidates who could enhance our Board’s breadth and depth of skills in people and culture, finance, strategy development, and partnerships and system working.

This year we were pleased to launch our Anti-Racism Strategy, and we want to continue to evolve our organisational culture to ensure that we develop a true sense of belonging for all our colleagues. It is important to us that our Board understands a broad spectrum of personal experience and are keen to attract candidates who can bring diverse perspectives. We particularly welcome expressions of interest from candidates who could enhance the racial and ethnic diversity of our Trust Board or those who could bring lived experience of living with a disability or long-term conditions.

If your ambition matches ours, we look forward to hearing from you.
