Transition of Children's Speech and Language Therapy Services

The Chesterfield and North Derbyshire Children’s Speech and Language Therapy service is moving – please be assured, services will remain in place.

From 1 April, Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust will no longer be providing this service as it is being moved to Derbyshire Community Health Service Trust (DCHS). This is to support maintaining and improving the quality of care.

Please be assured that your child’s Speech and Language Therapy provision will continue. You will not experience any change to the care provided – including your therapist.

You don’t need to take any action.

Any appointments you have will continue as planned - unless you receive separate communication indicating otherwise.

Your patient records, in relation to Children’s Speech and Language Therapy, will not be controlled by Chesterfield Royal Hospital – they will need to move to DCHS. Your data will be handled with care and Information Governance support has been provided to ensure that patient data is handled in line with the guidelines set out in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
