We held our first tour of our soon-to-open Community Diagnostic Centre this week, located at Walton Hospital, Chesterfield.

The purpose-built CDC is expected to open in Summer 2025 and will transform diagnostic care by providing essential diagnostic services closer to our communities and patients.

The 'one-stop-shop' will enable quicker diagnoses and treatment plans for conditions such as cancer, heart disease, and respiratory issues.

Our upcoming colleague and members of the public tours are both sold out - but we hope to have more tours available soon.

Sarah Roberts Morris, General Manager for Diagnostics, Clinical Support and Cancer Services said:

"Thank you to everyone who attended our first Community Diagnostic Centre tour. It was fantastic to show people around and demonstrate how quickly the CDC is coming to life. We are making significant strides and developments each week, and it's exciting to see the CDC taking shape and coming together. Being able to share our vision and progress with everyone was truly rewarding.

We anticipate that thousands of patients will access our centre each year. By bringing services closer to our communities, we will provide faster and more convenient access to tests and services, helping to reduce waiting times and improve patient care in our region. The tours have been a tremendous success, with most already fully booked. Thank you for your support and enthusiasm, and we look forward to facilitating more tours in the coming months."
