Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has come out above the national average for responses to a patient experience survey for cancer patients.

Following the successful results, the Trust is putting on a tour of the NGS Macmillan Unit at the hospital on Monday, 21 October. The event is titled ‘How we support your journey’ and runs 4pm to 5.30pm.

The free event is for Trust Members and will include a tour of department, presentation from clinicians on the services and care provided and questions.

Booking will be available from Monday, 30 September via an email to all Members. The booking will be based on a 'first come, first served' basis If you would like to attend the event, and you are not a Member, you can sign up here. 

The event will be hosted by Sheree Hall, Divisional Lead Nurse/Macmillan Lead Cancer Nurse, Keri Comins, Macmillan Lead Chemotherapy Nurse and Dawn Warrington, Macmillan Information and Support. 

The National Cancer Patient Experience Survey runs annually and is sent to all eligible people affected by cancer across the country. Scores are used to improve and develop care and services.

Chesterfield Royal Hospital had a higher-than-average response rate to the survey and out of the 61 questions, six were well above the expected scoring including subjects from ‘finding out you had cancer’ to ‘support from hospital staff’ and inpatient care.
