Walton Hospital Community Diagnostic Centre: Preview Tour
The £5.2m Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Walton Hospital is part of a wider £29.9m investment in CDCs across Derby and Derbyshire and marks our second centre in North Derbyshire - the other located at Whitworth Hospital, Matlock.
The Community Diagnostic Centre at Walton Hospital is expected to open in Summer 2025 and will transform diagnostic care by providing essential diagnostic services closer to our communities and patients, enabling quicker diagnoses and treatment plans for conditions such as cancer, heart disease, and respiratory issues.
We are hosting a series of preview tours for Trust Members and colleagues from both Trusts to find out more about the new development and learn about the services we will be providing from the purpose-built centre.
If you are interested in finding out more about the Community Diagnostic Centre at Walton, we invite you to book onto the next colleague tour on Thursday, 17 April at 12noon. Alternative dates will be available over the coming months.
Thank you
Please note: We can only accommodate 10 people per tour, so spaces are limited and will be offered on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. The tours will last for approximately 40 minutes. Please do arrive 10 minutes before the tour starts to complete registration and the health and safety talk. Please wear appropriate footwear. Hi-vis vests and hats will be provided. If you have any further questions, please contact Jude Navesey, CDC Programme Lead via judith.navesey@nhs.net.
The CDCs at Walton Hospital and Whitworth Hospital are part of a system-wide initiative with care being delivered by Chesterfield Royal Hospital colleagues working from Derbyshire Community Health Services buildings.
