Paediatric Assessment Unit

In June 2023, Chesterfield Royal Hospital opened our Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU) for children and young people to have the best care in the right place at the right time, along with improving the flow of patients through the Organisation and giving timely care whilst still continuing with our inpatient care for those most in need.

Currently, the Paediatric Team accept referrals directly from Primary care sources, such as the local GPs, along with other sources such as our Emergency Department, Out-patient Clinics and Specialist Children’s Community Nurses.
