Maxillofacial Surgery

The maxillofacial department comprises of two consultants with special interests in trauma and facial deformity, orofacial malignancy, salivary gland surgery and facial pain management. Patients may be referred by both dental and general practitioners.

Minor facial surgery and dentoalveolar surgery are undertaken in the department under local anaesthetic and if necessary, sedation, or on an inpatient or day-case basis in the operating suite.

Joint clinics are held with a consultant oncologist. Combined maxillofacial and orthodontic clinics are also held for the planning and treatment of facial deformity patients.
