The Chesterfield Eye Centre opened in June 2012, a £2 million, purpose-built centre that has transformed an area previously reserved for private care into a state-of-the-art Ophthalmic facility.
The centre combines all outpatient facilities previously situated in geographically separate outpatient clinics with the diabetic retinopathy service that was previously situated at the Saltergate Health Centre.
Each ophthalmic area has seating for waiting and there is a dedicated area for paediatrics with wall art and books to keep them occupied while waiting for their appointments.
There are also clinic rooms for consultations, viewing rooms, testing booths and photographic areas to take detailed pictures of a patient’s eyes if necessary.
