Patients come to get their blood samples taken to be sent for analysis in the laboratory at Chesterfield Royal Hospital or to be sent to a referral laboratory.

If you have a patient that is difficult to bleed or a specialist test that requires the sample to be sent to the laboratory quickly, the GP must email dhft.derbyshirepathology@nhs.net to inform Pathology of the patient's details and to request that the patient be seen by the Phlebotomy staff in Suite 9. The patient may then make an appointment at their convenience bringing a request form from the GP with them.
