- The battery may be dead. Try a new battery
- Check the battery is inserted correctly
- The hearing aid may be on the LOOP programme setting
- There maybe ear wax or moisture blocking the tube. Clean the hearing aid tube
- The tube maybe twisted or squashed. Contact the Audiology Service to replace tubing.
- The earmould/Minifit dome may not be inserted correctly
- There may be a split or crack in the tubing. Contact the Audiology Service for replacement tubing or arrange and repair appointment
- Excessive ear wax in your ear may be causing the hearing aid to feedback. Contact your GP to check your ears and to arrange ear wax removal if needed
If you accidentally got your hearing aid wet, there are some steps you can take to fix it.
Step 1
Remove the hearing aid battery and dry the hearing aid with a towel or tissue
Step 2
Leave the hearing aid with the battery drawer open for a day or two at room temperature to dry out
Step 3
Check there is no remaining water in the tubing/corda minifit
Step 4
Insert a new battery
Step 5
If your hearing aid is still not working as it should or has stopped working altogether, contact the Audiology Service for a repair appointment
